I am passionate about getting Britain buzzing again, pollinators are on the decline across the uk and I want to be apart of the survival efforts for the uk population... I am after enough land to be able to have a good few Lavender lanes that can be used for the Bees and be harvested for essential oil production and culinary Lavender use on one part of the land, to that side I would also like to start with 6 Bee hives and produce honey and Beeswax that can be used to make candles... To the other side I would like to have a poultry section where I want to collect eggs, raise Chooks for meat and raise Chooks for sale... All products that can be produced from the farm I would like to sell in an on site farm shop, where I would not only sell my products but would contact other local businesses and ask if they would like me to stock their products in the shop... I would also be planting a large wild flower/meadow bed around the entire perimeter of the farm and would work extremely closely with the local countryside management service to ensure the most can be done for local biodiversity and the promotion of natural farming... So ideally a max of 4 acres would be a good starting point as if I wanted to expand I could purchase additional farm land in Somerset as time goes on... I would also like to live on site to ensure the smooth running of the farm and to attend the animals, I would love to find a way of gaining financial help from somewhere to help make this all happen as I am on a low budget... Any help or ideas would be fantastic...
