Hello!
I am hoping to locate a cottage, small detached house, barn, or similar sort of property, within manageable commuting distance of Edinburgh (e.g. the Lothians, Lanarkshire, Borders).
Not specifically looking for a smallholding, but trying to find somewhere detached with a little green space and separation from the rest of the world. So, the exact property style or character is not critical, nor is having a particular amount of land. I have a maximum budget for the project around £200k, and am chain-free, ready to move, and with solicitor waiting. Standard lending arrangements are in place; specialist lending is awaiting having a specific property.
Whether it is habitable or in ruins, I'd love to hear regarding anything of the sort! Will happily consider the full range - anything from a dated but habitable small cottage, former lodge, or bungalow that needs some work, all the way through to a derelict crofting hut, stables, stone barn or similar, in need of a full renovation and conversion. If you are in possession of any property like this (or perhaps have one in a corner of your land) and might be happy to sell, or you know of anywhere where one can be found, I'd be very glad to hear!
